Male or female Rottweiler puppy? What to check before buying?

Hello, I am going to purchase a dog (rott) as a guardian. I found this local breeder which I am going to see, which is offering two Rottweilers;both 13 weeks of age. I was wondering which would be more appropriate a male or female. As well as things I can check while seeing the pups. Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male

I would probably recommend a female. there are so many things that needs to be checked in a new puppy, i would strongly recommend taking him to the vet the same day for a puppy checkup, this way you will have the option to return her if there is something wrong.
