My puppy has a new freckle-like mark. Is it a skin infection?

A freckle type mark has appeared quite quickly on my 5month old puppy Ted. Just wondering if it is a freckle or something more serious? At present doesn’t seem to be bothering him. Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 2 days old | 6 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
