Puppy's legs bending outwards and in pain. Is it calcium or worse?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 4.4 lbs

Hi i bought a lab female puppy of approx 2 months old when i bought her she was ok and fine but after a week i came to notice that her legs are bending in curvature to outside, i talked to vet from whom i bought her and he said she requires calcium as she is heavy bone child, and he gave some calcium vitamin and mineral tabs and applied a syring but even after, she cries in pain when we take her for a short walk , so my question is that whether she will be Ok or the vet has just make us fool.

Hi, I am so sorry Luci is in pain. Your veterinarian is correct that calcium imbalances can occur but i would recommend that you have Luci’s legs and joints x-rayed and reviewed by a board certified veterinary surgeon or radiologist to rule out angular limb deformities, elbow dysplasia, or inflammatory disease processes of the bone.
