My dog has a skin tag with a rash. Is it serious or just common?

Hello, my 3 yr old american staffirshire has this raised skin tag that looks to have developed a rash around it. Is this something I should be concerned about. Last time the vet said the bumps are common and usually harmless. Thank you+. Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | 3 years and 6 months old | 85 lbs

Hello, The redness associated with the skin tag could be trauma but I would advise you to take a picture and monitor the area for swelling, discharge or increase in size. If you notice any changes, have Chloe examined and discuss aspirating (sticking a needle into the tissue to remove cells) the area to rule out infection or cancer.
