My horse gets nosebleeds when ridden. What could be causing this?

Pet's info: Farm Animal | Horse | Female

My horse has been getting nose bleeds( not anything major just a few small trickles) when I ride her past walk. She has been off work for about six months due to laminitis and I have slowly been building her up again. I was hoping you could give me some advice on what to do and what it could be.

Hello, Jazz most likely has exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage. It is a due to ruptured capillaries in the nasal passages. However, we cannot completely rule out others causes including an ethmoid hematoma, fungal infection, or strangle. Therefore, I recommend that you follow up with Jazz’s veterinarian to discuss coffins testing and endoscopy evaluation of nasal and guttural pouches.
