My cat has dark brown spots on his gums. Is this normal for cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 12 lbs

My one year old calico tabby cross male cat has recently been getting dark brown spots on his gums. The spots are not raised and do the seem to bother him in the slightest. Is this normal and is there cause for me to worry about these spots?

Great pictures! These dark spots are very normal and I would not be worried about them! You may even notice more develop over time, but they are not a concern as long as they are not raised or bothering Baileys at all.
