My 4-month husky puppy is limping, but not in pain. Vet or rest?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 13 days old

My 4 month old husky randomly started limping on her back left leg and when I try to stretch it she doesn’t cry or anything, I checked her paws to make sure there wasn’t anything stuck and it was clear, she’s able to run fine. Curious if she may have pulled a muscle and wondering if the limping will stop on it’s own soon? or should I get it checked asap

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nala. If she is otherwise acting normal, I would keep her very quiet for the next 24 hours. No running, jumping or stairs. Take her outside on a leash to go potty and bring her right back inside. If the lameness improves with rest, she likely sustained a mild soft tissue injury. If this does not help or it is worse, then she will need to see her veterinarian. She may require x-rays if the painful portion of that limb can be identified. I hope this information helps!
