My parrot has a growing red lump on its neck. What should I do?

Hi, my name is Alexa, I'm writing because I'm scared for my parrot's life. She developed this huge red blister in her neck that's growing every hour, it seems infected and I feel like it could explode anytime now. I've called a few veterinaries but they all told me they don't work with birds. I'm scared and desperate. What should I do? How should I treat her? Should I give her something and if so, what?

Hi Alexa, From the picture, I suspect Kuka has a ruptured air sac (lung) and air is leaking under the skin. In some cases, they can resolve but Kuka may need to have the air removed with a needle. At this time, as long as she is eating, drinking, and breathing well, try not to worry. If you notice the bulge growing larger, Kuka develops respiratory distress or stops eating please reach out to us and we will do our best to help. Otherwise, I would plan to get her to a veterinarian Monday.
