Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 16 years and 1 month old | 11 lbs
I have a 16 yo cat. She has had several thousand dollars woth of treatment over the last year for various things. Now, she's vomiting and has diarrhea regularly and she sometimes has black stool. The vet wants to do an ultrasound to see if it's inflamatory bowel disease, an inflamed pancreas, or whatever. I don't have any more money for medical treatment for her. Is it just her time to go? I feel bad thinking about putting her down if she has something which could be treated... Any ideas?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Inky. I would consider asking about conservative treatment options. You can decline diagnostics due to cost and see if you veterinarian will treat her for the suspected inflammatory bowel disease. She could have nausea medication, a GI protectant for the dark stool and an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory properties. I think it is worth asking about this and seeing if it is an option for her. Good luck!
