Hi my cat max, who is 5 recently just had surgery to remove a bladder stone (basically) and now has a golf size mass on his stomach, right where the surgery took place, its hard as a rock and seems to have gotten bigger, i took him to the vet but they said it was nothing. I don’t believe them and would like more advice

Hello. i would need to at least see a picture of this mass to give you an educated opinion, if it is at the same location where the incision was made then there are a couple options, the first one is a local swelling, this is relatively common and can happen with most surgeries, in some cases it will require antibiotic treatment. the second option is an hernia, this is much less common but can of course happen as well, if the swelling/mass remains present and does not get any smaller within a month after surgery then i would definitely recommend having it investigated more deeply (ultrasound/xray).
