Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 9 years and 2 months old | 20.4 lbs
I have a 9 year old dachshund Jack Russell mix , he has been a few pounds over weight for the last year or so and have had no luck with different foods with lower calories and or less food. I exercise him as much as I can with a full schedule but he tires fast or now that it’s a lot warmer he gets to hot . Just wondering if you have any suggestions, tips , or best foods for our situation?

Hello, Mario is very handsome! I would recommend testing him for cushing’s disease and low thyroid levels. Patients with low thyroid levels or overactive adrenal glands that excrete excess cortisol struggle to lose weight. My own pet lost weight eating science diet metabolic formula. I fed her the amount recommended based on her lean body weight. Also, you could consult a veterinary nutritionist to make recommendations.
