My female dog has thick gray discharge. Is it a UTI or infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 17 years and 7 months old | 17 lbs

Edina has thick, sticky, and grayish discharge from her urinary track/vagina. There is no distinct smell, it's just thick and unusual.

Poor Edine. This could be a sign of a urinary tract infection, a vaginal infection, a stump pyometra (infection in the uterine stump) or even a tumor in the vagina or urinary tract. I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet may do a urinalysis and may check her white blood count to see what treatment she needs. I hope this helps!
