My cat is stressed after moving. How to stop her night meowing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | spayed | 5 years and 4 months old | 8 lbs

I recently moved a few weeks back and my cat still hasnt settled, and I’m worried she’s still too stressed. She is fairly calm during the day but as soon as I try to go to bed she walks around and wails for hours. Ive tried giving her calming treats but after two days she now refuses to eat them. I’m at a loss of what I can do to make her chill out and stop meowing.

Hi and thanks for posting! Aww poor Fanny- I like that name and cute picture of her. If the calming supplements do not seem to do the trick after a while and Fanny is still seeming stressed, then I would talk to Fanny's veterinarian about getting her on anti anxiety medication. There are lots of different medications your veterinarian may recommend. It may take 3-4 weeks to see any differences in her behavior, but this can really help especially if all other efforts have proven to be unsuccessful. I hope this helps and I wish you and Fanny the best!
