How to know if my bulldog is in pain when they don't show it?

How will I know if my sumo is in any pain, bulldogs I am told are unresponsive to pain, I am dreading the inevitable I just want to be certain that he will lets me know if he is suffering or

The typical signs of pain and discomfort are lack of appetite, low energy level, excercise intolerance and lethargy. As you said, bulldogs usually do not yelp in pain therefore pain assessment may be difficult. If in doubt, sometimes we do a pain killers trial for a few days to see of the pain killers will make any difference for the dog.
