My new pug puppy shivers after eating. Is this normal or serious?

I am sorry to hear about your pug puppy. I would recommend bringing him to a veterinarian for evaluation. When I hear of a puppy having this type of sign after a meal (if it is repeated, not just one isolated incident) I worry about a portosystemic liver shunt which you can read at here https://www.vin.com/veterinarypartner/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952622. If the shivering is just random or didn't recur it could be due to being cold, being scared or in pain, or a neurological issue. An exam is recommended if the shivering continues to help ascertain if the dog has a medical problem.
