My female puppy is licking her vulva frantically, no swelling. Why?

11-week old boxer female puppy woke up tonight frantically licking her vulva. The area does not appear swollen or imflamed. She has had normal bowel and bladder function since waking. She is crying and running to escape pain? irritation? Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 13 days old | 15 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Sophie!! Possible causes are: burning feeling from a UTI or crystals in her urine, impacted anal glands or skin issue or fleas on the back part of her. I would put her in the tub and rinse her off back there to see if it helps. If she is still agitated and crying then I would collect a urine sample and have her seen by a vet this morning. I wish Sophie the best!
