Why is my bunny shaking, panting, and breathing fast? Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered

Binky shakes a lot. The shaking is like panting with his head bobbing up and down and he breathes very fast as well. I can see his tummy part going up and down rapidly. All the time. But my other bunny doesn't. Why is it so

Hello, sorry to hear about Binky. There could be a variety of reasons why he is doing this. My biggest concern is that he could have an underlying heart disease or an upper respiratory infection. Binky should be evaluated by a veterinarian to make sure that he does not have the above conditions. He may require chest x-rays and bloodwork. Hope this helps and best of luck.
