What's this rash on my new puppy's elbow? Is it Demodex or ringworm?

What is this skin irritation? Just adopted him and he has a rash on his front right elbow. He is currently on Doxycycline 75mg BID for a UTI until 5/9 and just completed Albon 125mg I don't remember why he was on that. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 2 months and 16 days old

The Albon is typically used to treat an intestinal parasite known as coccidia. As for the skin, I would recommend a test to check for a mite known as demodex. It is a normal mite that lives in the hair follicles of dogs. Young puppies can experience an overgrowth though. This will present as hair loss and red areas of skin. Ringworm is a fungal infection that has the potential to look similar. In the meantime, you can try bathing him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula. I hope this information helps!
