My dog has a foxtail sticking out. Can I safely pull it from her rear?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | 58 lbs

I believe my dog has a foxtail halfway protruding from her rectum. Should i pull it out

If you can without her biting you or getting hurt, then you can try. I would only gently pull. If it doesn't come easily or if she freaks out, I would stop and take her to your vet. Your vet will be able to make sure it isn't embedded and sedate her if needed to safely remove it. I hope this helps!

    You can but be careful and I would monitor closely afterwards for not eating and an infection in that area. Be sure to clean the area with mild soap and water afterwards and stop the bleeding by holding pressure. You can put neosporin on it twice a day for a few days to help with infection. If it continues to stay red and swollen or there is any discharge and/or her energy and appetite don't return, I would strongly encourage a vet to look at it. I hope this helps!
