Is it okay to take my cat on a long road trip with a fast return?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | RagaMuffin | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

I would like to take my cat with on a 6 1/2 hour Road trip one way. Should I? What’s the best way to travel? We would be coming back the same distance the next day or day after.

That is fast turn around for such a long trip. If she rides week and is it easily stressed by new places or new rounding then you can. Most cats don’t ride well and since you will only be gone a day, it will likely be better to make arrangements for her to stay behind They travel safest in a carrier and sometimes sedation is needed so talk to your vet about medication
