My dog is better, can I stop metronidazole even if he's lethargic?

Hello, my dog was not feeling good about 3 days ago. Had to do with his old freeze dried/raw food I believe. Doctor prescribed him metronidazole. He looks fine now. And they tested his stool for a couple of things and all was negative. Everytime I give him the meds, he is out of it for a few hours and just wants to sit in my lap. Dose is 50 mg / pill, 2 per 12 hours. As everything is negative, can I stop giving him this? I am changing his food as well. Thank you

It would not be a good idea to stop metronidazole now and the symptoms may come back. Please, complete 5 days of treatment and then double-check with your vet that it is ok to stop the medication. The dose of metronidazole Leo was prescribed is ok (100mg every 12hrs).
