Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 5 months and 17 days old | 65 lbs
My 5 month Boxer has always had soft stools (never forceful or bloody diarrhea) but as I take her on more walks, I’m noticing that her mess is impossible to pick up in a baggie since it’s so runny. She doesn’t seem sick at all. She has a good appetite and plays well with our other dog. All of her shots and deworm are up to date. I’ve heard boxers are prone to allergies, but I’m not sure which ones. We feed her Old Roy dog food and she seems to have no other symptoms.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. It sounds as if Ali may be dealing with a dietary sensitivity / indiscretion from the food she is on. About 65% of the time in cases of vomiting / diarrhea in dogs that are otherwise acting normal, the diet is the cause or an imbalance of the normal bacteria in the intestines. I would recommend transitioning to a completely different food altogether such as Science Diet, Royal Canin, Purina One or Natural Balance and feed this new diet for at least 4-6 weeks. If the diarrhea does not resolve after trying 2 - 3 different foods, I would have Ali examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. Please remember to rate this answer as helpful or not. Thank you!
