My allergic dog is itchier, has a raspy bark. Can I wait for vet?

My 6 year old Cairn Terrier has allergies. He is on Apoquel and takes 3/4 of an antihistamine tablet each morning. Tree pollen is rising and his bark sounds as if he has laryngitis. He is acting itchier than usual. Should I be concerned? Annual vet check is this Wednesday. Pet's info: Dog | Cairn Terrier | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 15 lbs

You may consider bathing him twice per week with a medicated shampoo if he has been prescribed one. If not, try a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula. This can physically remove some allergens and help to soothe the skin relieving the itchiness.
