My cat is gagging, meowing strangely, and not eating or energetic.

I think something is stuck in my cats throat, he keeps gagging and whenever I touch him to carry him he starts gagging and his meow is weird, it sounds deep and it keeps cutting off like crumbling plastic. He is not energetic anymore and he doesnt as much as he used to. Yesterday night I also saw water on his bed and I think it is his saliva, we took him to the doctor 2 days ago and they gave him a pill, not sure if it helps, but I need help because I'm afraid if he is injured badly. Hello. I think that Robin should be rechecked as soon as possible. Since he has not improved, some more thorough investigating needs to be done. He likely needs to have a more thorough exam of his mouth and throat while under anesthesia. He should also have an X-ray taken.
