Why is my dog's anal mass back with pus and blood after surgery?

Hello my dog hobo (Jack Russell) has a mass under his anal area had a operation to remove it and few weeks later same complain again its red swollen and bothering him green pus & blood oozes from it and his scooting around the floor. Thanks

It is hard to tell from the picture if this is due to anal gland disease or possibly tumour - I recommend you contact your vets office and advise them of the new symptoms and they can assess the full picture in light of his recent issues. Biopsy may be required to investigate fully, if due to primary anal gland inflammation, diet manipulation can help significantly in reducing recurrence

    Yikes, this looks not so good. I think this could definitely be cancer. The other possibilities are an anal fistula (very frustrating to treat) or some bizarre fungal infection or forgoing body. Long story short, talk with your vet about what realistic expectations are for Hobo and what next steps might be. Best of luck to you and Hobo.
