What causes a bloodshot eye and white film in my senior dog?

Hi just wondering if you can help I have a alaskan mal aged 10yrs he's a rescue dog I've had him for 12myhs now and recently over the last few weeks I've noticed his left eye is bloodshot on further investigation I've noticed he as like a white film coming over his pupil it's not sore and he doesn't rub it himself at all plz could you advise me on what needs to be done thanks

It would be helpful if you could provide pictures but I strongly recommend scheduling an appointment with an ophthalmic specialist in order to examine both the surface and inside the eye with magnification. Eye injuries and infections are common but similar signs can also arise due to glaucoma and internal inflammation or tumours
