Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5.6 lbs
My cat has microphthalmia. The smaller eye (which has a third eyelid) continues to have very dark, almost gelatinous fluid in it on a daily basis, but her other eye is fine. Is this simply a result of her smaller eye not able to drain properly, or is this a potential health problem?

It is likely due the difference in anatomy of the small eye. She may have an allergy or infection that is making worse currently. I would have your vet check it to see if medication is needed to help control the discharge and inflammation. If the eye is otherwise quiet, talk to them about having the eye removed if this is a long term problem since it is no visual anyway, it can help with over all comfort long term
