Found a tick in my bed. Should I worry about an infestation or eggs?

A couple of days ago my dog was sleeping in my bed. She jumped off and I found a tick near her on my bed. I disposed the tick, checked all over my dog for ticks and found nothing. Next morning I took her to the vet and they applied anti-tick and flea medictaion. also they checked for ticks but haven’t found anything. I’m still paranoid about finding ticks in my bed although did thorough cleaning and vacuming. I also sprayed pesticide, will that be enough to kill any ticks or eggs? Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 23 days old | 11 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! You will not have tick eggs in your house. They have to feed off blood to produce eggs, so I wouldn't worry about that or an infestation. It sounds as though you have done a good job. I would just add that you should consider a long lasting tick preventative. Dips and sprays do not last long on the dog. I would consider one of the new oral medications: either Nexgard or Simparica which are monthly or Bravecto which is one pill every 3 months. i wish you and Lilly the best!
