My pregnant cat has dry nipples. Can I apply Vaseline before birth?

Hello, Mia’s nipples are really dry? Can I put Vaseline on them ? And p.s. she’s about to give birth to kittens soon ☺️☺️☺️

Usually no vaseline is needed as it won't change much the skin hydration and possibly could impair lactation. As long the nipples are not more red than normal or painful (swelling would be normal at this stage) no further course of action is needed.
