Dog vomiting and bloody penis discharge: What could it be?

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 50 lbs

We have boxer that has bloody discharge from his penis. He has been throwing up today and we just noticed bright red blood from his penis. What could cause this. It just stsrted.

This could be caused by a variety of problems starting from a lesion on the penis itself (usually infective or traumatic), a urinary tract inflammation/infection, a problem related to the prostate (infection/inflammation and, depending on his age, a tumor could be included in the list). A check up and further diagnostic tests (urine analysis and possibly ultrasound of the prostate and samples from there) would be useful to understand exactly the underlying cause and decide appropriate treatment.
