Can rabbits drink milk? Is it healthy or harmful for bunnies?

Lowfat cow's milk does not have the appropriate nutrition profile for baby mammals. I recommend kitten milk replacer. If you do not have access to kitten formula, you can make a homemade formula: 1/2 cup whole milk 1 egg yolk 1 drop pet multi-vitamin 3 crushed Tums (antacid) Mix in a blender and replace every 2-3 days. This homemade formula should only be used until a balanced pet formula can be obtained.

Keep in mind though, once dogs are no longer puppies, most of them lose the ability to properly digest/breakdown dairy products so it is not really recommended that you give them milk. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Actually most adult cats and dogs are lactose intolerant. In some cats milk or dairy products can cause vomit or diarrhea. But others tolerate it. My opinion is if Jhumru doesn't get sick from milk then there is no reason to stop, but watch for any signs of an upset stomach. It would be helpful to know how old the rabbits are. Can you please post again with more information? Human powdered milk is not a good substitute for kitten milk replacer. I suggest you try to find the kitten milk from either another shop or order it online. Many vets have this on hand in their office so you could always call a local vet and ask to buy some. Feeding the incorrect nutrition can be deadly to baby rabbits. In a pinch you can use goat's milk but get them back on kitten milk as soon as you can. If they are just getting cow milk and cabbage, then this could definitely explain why they are dying. Rabbit milk is much different than cows milk and they usually don't need it after 5 weeks of age. They should have grass and quality hay offered as the main source of their diet. At this time they should be fed almost exclusively grass and hay. Milk (if needed) would only need to be fed once or twice a day. Feeding milk more than this and at an older age can lead to intestinal problems, which are deadly for rabbits. There are other environmental factors that could be causing them to die, so make sure you are housing them appropriately and are making sure they are not too hot. I think the bunny looks fine. Just because it is smaller does not mean it is not healthy. You can add goat milk (regular, not low fat) to the kitten milk replacer and a pinch of acidophilus (aka Probiotic) to the formula to promote healthy gut flora. Formulas vary depending on region. Avoid Esbilac and any puppy formulas. FEED TWICE A DAY ONLY and let them have free choice alfalfa hay. At 3-6 weeks of age they should be eating about 13-15 cc/ml each feeding (two feedings a day) but it may be LESS depending on size of rabbit so they little one may only eat 8-12cc. That is OK.
