Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 16 days old
I found a kitten on the streets, and took him with me until I found him a new home. He used his litter box normaly. No issues, until I took him to his new owners. After 2 days of staying at his new home, he was returned to us due to new owner's medical problems. Now I have him with me and he urinate inside his box, but poops outside of it. We always keep it clean for him. And before taking him to his new owner, he uses his box with no issues. Why isnt he pooping inside his box anymore?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I'm sorry to hear Taco has started having litterbox issues. Defecating outside the litterbox can be due to a variety of reasons, including medical, such as GI issues (intestinal parasites, GI upset, dietary indiscretion, etc), or behavioral (the stress of going back and forth between houses, etc). I would recommend Taco be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if there is any medical component to his going outside the box (fecal testing, etc), and if not, then address some possible behavioral modifications to help through this transition (cat attract litter in the box, a pheromone collar, more than one box in the house, etc). Good luck!
