My dog has diarrhea for 5 days, what are the next steps to help?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 6 years and 7 months old | 10 lbs

6rs, 10lb chihuahua. Diarrhea for 5 days, giving 1/2 pedialite mixed with water, obstained food for 24 hrs, then boiled chicken and white rice only. I believe it is an adverse reaction to bravecto. He is eating, drinking and actively going out to poddy

Hello. I would recommend starting Finn on a good probiotic, as this is very important for returning the gut bacteria back to normal. FortiFlora is an excellent one & is available at PetCo. I would also start him on some Metamucil, 1/2 tablespoon twice a day. If diarrhea continues, please see your veterinarian as Finn may need either a stronger anti-diarrheal or he may need antibiotics at this point. Continue the chicken & rice ( should be 75% rice & 25% chicken ) for another couple of days. The diluted Pedialyte is an excellent idea.
