My pigeon's tail twitches when still. Is this normal behavior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | 9 months old

I have been noticing that my pigeon's tail wing keeps twitching as the bird stays still. Is it normal? There are total two of them but only one among them does that twitching thing. It has been doing it since a few months. I want to know whether its normal or not. Except that, the bird seems to be fine.

It sounds like yes, this is normal behavior for Lokkhu since she is otherwise acting fine. If you notice her having an inability to fly, perch or balance normally then I would be concerned. You can trim the tail feathers if you feel that it would make her more comfortable. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
