ACP is not a medicine to counteract dementia, it is just a sedative. I like to recommend a medicine called selegiline which works very well in dement dogs and cats, does not sedate them but helps with the anxiety involved. Dogs will be able sleep through the night again and will be less confused. You may want to discuss this with either your vet or get a second opinion. CBD has not been researched in veterinary medicine, so there is little experience and only anectdotal evidence. It is also not licensed for treatment yet, so I am afraid I cannot recommend it.
