My senior cat only eats pate. Is it healthy if she won't drink water?

Pet's info: Cat | Chartreux | Female | spayed | 14 years and 11 months old | 12 lbs

Hello, my cat Monty is 15 years old. She won’t eat her food unless it is the “meaty paté” cat food. (Soft food that’s not good for them). She won’t drink her water. What should I do?

Canned food, especially the pate type food is good for your cat. Your cat gets less carbohydrates that way, gets more protein and humidity like she should. This is one of the reasons why she does not need to drink as much as a cat that eats dry food. You should also put the water bowl about 6 foot away from the food bowl as many cats will not drink when the water is too close to the food.
