My dog missed Trifexis for 3 months. Can I restart it safely?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 13 lbs

I would like to know if it will hurt my dog to restart her Trifexis even though she has not taken it in over three months.

It should be ok for her to take it. Even if she happens to have some heart worm microfilariae, they should be killed off with the Trifexis without causing any complications. It takes longer than three months for adult heart worm to develop, so therefore there is no danger of any adult heart worm to be resident in your dog's aorta,
