Why is my cat coughing up mushy yellow stuff? Is it a hairball?

My cat has excreted some mushy like poop. This is the third time he's doing so and he did with some kind of strange voice under my cot. I have attached photo of it. Last two times it was kind of orange in color and this time it's yellow. It looks like cotton and doesn't smell at all. Other than that he's active eeveryything. Last time it happened on last week and a month back before that. Please advise. His vet is away on holidays for three months. I'm not sure if he threw up this also. Pls help.
