Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 6 days old | 4 lbs

My kitten of 6 months ate a portion of iams kitten wet food and I didn't notice till he ate half the food that there were maggots in it. What should I do? What are the symptoms of maggots in a kitten? I won't be available to take him to the vet till Friday and he ate this on Sunday.

Your kitten cannot get maggots from the food, maggots are basically the larval stage of a fly that is layed directly onto the skin, usually when an injury is present. Maggots could cause the food to get spoiled though so Junior might be suffering from a gastrointestinal infection, the main symptoms are usually vomiting and diarrhea.
