My dog accidentally took double Simplicef. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 70 lbs

I accidently gave my 70 lb dog a second dose of 150 mg of simplicef. Do I need to be worried?

You may see some vomiting and/or diarrhea. More serious toxicity is not a concern with a double dose of this antibiotic. Fast Milo for 24 hours then feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve if necessary.
