Hi! Thanks for entrusting us with Jerry's care today! Lameness can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. Treatment will be dependent on findings though at the very least pain control medications can be prescribed. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Poor Mikey! It's certainly possible that he could have sprained or twisted something during his run - this can sometimes cause some mild lameness after exercise like this, just like in humans. If he is acting normal otherwise, you could try restricting his exercise for the next few days to see if the problem resolves - this means short leash walks to potty only, no running or jumping. If there is no improvement in the next 2-3 days, or if he is holding the leg up completely or seems excessively painful, I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam - he may need x-rays or other testing to help determine what's wrong.
