Why are my 5-year-old Brittany's joints huge but she's not in pain?

My 5 year old Brittany Spaniel has had huge joints which have been this way for a year. Our vet never seemed concern about them. Though our vet is under new management and we don’t like them anymore. She doesn’t seem in pain. She also runs for at least 3 hours a day if she doesn’t get to run she goes crazy. She walks and runs normal. Pet's info: Dog | Brittany | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 3 months old | 30 lbs

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Based on the photos and description, I would recommend having the fluid from these joints tapped and sent out for culture. This may be septic arthritis, in which an infection has spread to the joints and caused them to become enlarged. This could also be immune mediated polyarthritis in which there is no infectious agent identified but it is the immune system that has caused the disease. I would recommend further testing and ruling out infection in the joints. I hope this helps!
