Dog attacked, bleeding from bites, bubbly skin. What should I do now?

hello I have an urgent question my small dog was attacked by a pitbull yesterday and she has 3 small openings were the pitbull bit her and yesterday she was walking fine and today as well till may be 4hr ago she started to bleed from the openings and when I touch her there is a bubbly sound on her skin what should I do

Have Luna seen by a vet now. There could be internal injures from being bit by the pitbull, and only a vet can diagnose that. In addition, dog bites frequently become infected, and oral antibiotics are needed to prevent an infection. It's very important though to have her seen by a vet right away to make sure she doesn't have internal injuries, so that is what I think you should do. Take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Those look like pustules (pockets of infection). Luna probably has a bacterial skin infection. This is common in puppies because they do not have a strong immune system. I recommend taking Luna to a vet for a closer look and antibiotics. Good luck and kisses to Luna!

How bad is his would? He was attacked Thursday morning by my neighbors pit and can't really walk much....
I would have to examine this wound in-person to tell the extent, but it does appear like a deep wound that should be treated by a veterinarian. Bite wounds tend to develop infections very quickly and can have severe consequences if not treated appropriately. For now, I recommend flushing the wound using a syringe or other dispensing device with warm water for five minutes. This may not be easy, because dogs tend to hate this, so I recommend having someone help you with holding Wolfy to make sure the wound gets flushed well. Infection is the biggest concern with these wounds; so after flushing, it's best to apply an antibacterial cream to the wound. In order to keep the wound clean, it's best to flush the wound two times a day and gently wipe away any big crusts - make sure not to scrub the wound, because this can make it worse. Apply the antibacterial cream after each flushing. I recommend taking him to the vet within the next 24 hours for treatment. I hope that helps and W

Those spots on Luna could be several things including allergies to flea bites, skin mites, ringworm (which humans can get), allergies to something in the environment, food allergy or endocrine disease. Each one of these problems is detected and addressed differently and I recommend to discuss with your veterinarian which one to start hunting down first. Parasites are often ruled out with an oral medication like Simparica. Food allergy is best ruled out with a diet trial using a hydrolyzed protein. Endocrine diseases are detected with blood work. Environmental allergies are a little more difficult to detect but a response to therapy or a blood test can give an indication. Once you figure out and address the underlying cause, the lesions should not come back. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try c

My dog was bitten​ by another dog yesterday
Ouch, poor Lola! That bite looks pretty bad and should be examined and cleaned by a veterinarian. Your vet will likely also recommend antibiotics to prevent an infection from forming in the bite wound. Depending on where you are located, you may also need to report the other dog for the bite, or make sure your dog and the other dog are up to date on all vaccinations. Your local vet can help you determine if there are any steps such as these that need to be made.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm so sorry to hear about Darby, I can imagine that was very scary for both of you! I would recommend having Darby seen by a veterinarian as soon as you can. Dog bite wounds can be very extensive, beyond what you can see on the surface. There can be significant soft tissue injury that you cannot see, and a wound that looks like a small puncture can actually have deep pocketing and tissue damage. Also, dog bite wounds are very prone to becoming infected, as the bacteria in a dog's mouth can infect your dog's skin and prevent the wounds from healing. Your veterinarian will likely want to sedate Darby so he/she can clip the hair around the wounds and clean them out. Based on Darby's physical exam, your veterinarian may also recommend x-rays to look for evidence of other trauma, such as lung contusions (bruises) or fractures. Poor Princess! Her irregular breathing is quite concerning. There is a chance that it is a result of pain from the attack, or could be an indication that the pit bull's tooth punctured her chest cavity. Bite wounds are typically worse under the surface of the skin than they appear externally. Princess needs to see a vet immediately for an exam, possible chest x-rays due to her irregular breathing, and antibiotics and pain medication. I hope that she is feeling better soon!

It sounds like Cujo has developed an abscess from this bite, and he needs veterinary attention now for it. The abscess needs to be drained and flushed sterilely, and he will need antibiotics to treat the infection. I have a Pomeranian dog which was bit by a german shepherd today morning. There is no teeth Mark and almost no bleeding but the skin has been cut and it is still attached with the body and looks like a cover.
If this is a dog bite, there is a very high risk of it turning into an abscess and/or the infection spreading elsewhere, which can be very dangerous to your dog’s health. The bite is likely very sore, and Rony will probably not let you clean it appropriately at home. It sounds like he may need antibiotics based on your description, which can only be prescribed by a vet. Another very serious concern in the case of a bite wound is the possibility of rabies infection, which is transmitted from the saliva of infected mammals, can be passed on to humans, and is fatal. Rory may need a rabies vaccine booster or further treatment after this bite incident. I advise taking Rony to the vet asap for treatment to help keep him healthy and to help prevent Rony from injuring you if you try to clean it yourself.
