My dog's back end lump popped. Is it a ruptured cyst? What now?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 76 lbs

My dog had this thing on the aide of her back end and i had made a vet appointment but it it’s this coming Friday . I looked today and it somehow popped on it’s own the hair around it was matted a bit so o took a warm rag and wipe it and saw like small amount of cream colored puss coming out of it when I wiped over it . It now looks like a red flap with no more puss in it. What does this mean ? The first picture is what it looked like before the second 2 are what it looks of now..

It could be that Winnie had a cyst and it ruptured. I would gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap, and keep the area clean and dried. Do not let her lick at it. Keep the vet appointment for Friday, as if it is a cyst, the sac of it may need to be removed surgically to prevent it from reoccurring. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco! From the pictures, it appears as though this is a cyst. I would clean this using a combined solution of water and betadine (mix until light brown) and keep the area clean. The cyst will likely close back up now that it has ruptured. If it continues to drain material or becomes infected, then I would have a veterinarian take a look at this and plan to have it removed. I hope this helps! This looks like a little abscess. These can happen for a few different reasons, but it's often due to something like a thorn getting stuck under the skin. However, this could be due to a parasite, resistant infection, or even a tumor. My best advice is to schedule an appointment with your vet in the next day or two, so they can have a better look at this and make sure it's nothing serious. In the meantime, it's best to flush the wound with clean water for five minutes twice a day. I do not recommend putting any creams or antiseptics on the area at this time, because it may complicate the healing process more than it helps. Once the cause of this is identified and removed, these usually heal well within a week or two. I hope that helps and this gets better soon.

My female dog that is 14 had looked like to have a ball sack on her back leg. It had been there for maybe a year or two, nothing had happened to it, so my mom and I didn't think much of it. This past weekend it has popped and puss has come out of it.
It could be that Jasmen had a cyst which has now ruptured. If there is pus, however, it means there is an infection and she needs to see the vet. The vet can confirm if it is a cyst, if there is an infection, and can prescribe antibiotics. Give the vet a call in the morning to make an appointment, and gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep her from licking at it, put an Ecollar on her if needed. It sounds like that lump is a sebaceous cyst. Benign but will not ever go completely away without surgical removal. I would not consider this an emergency. Just keep it clean until you can get Sadie back to your vet for a recheck and to talk about removing it. Don't use peroxide to clean it. This looks like it could be a cyst or a skin tumor like a hemangioma. I find that once a skin growth ruptures it tends to happen again, so I would definitely recommend making an appointment to see your veterinarian. They will probably recommend surgically removing this growth.

It is likely to enlarge again, surgical removal is typically required to completely remove the cyst. It could become infected, so monitor for any redness, pain or oozing from the area.

HuskySt Bernard mix, noticed a small lump on spine which grew to 3/4 inch in 48hrs and popped today. Fillied with mostly blood . Didnt seem tender or itchy and theres no signs of fever or lathargy, maybe spider bite?
It could be a spider bite, but it could also be a cyst. I would gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap. Tomorrow have Duke seen by a vet, as if it's a cyst, it may need to be removed surgically to prevent it from filling up again.

Ideally, he should be examined by your veterinarian. Never medicate a pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Inappropriate antibiotic use can lead to resistant bacteria and may complicate any underlying conditions, possibly delaying diagnosis. The lump may have been a cyst or abscess that ruptured. If it is bleeding, painful or if the discharge doesn't stop, then have Rocket seen at the nearest veterinary ER tonight. If Rocket is not bleeding, painful and behaving normally, clean the area with a warm washcloth or pet wipe and have him examined tomorrow.

This is on my dog, it’s like a hold, I don’t know if I need to take her into the vet right now. Not bleeding!
There could be a few things that look like that. An infection that ruptured through the skin, a bite wound, a fly larva or a cyst that popped could all have this appearance. I would recommend to take Pepper into the vet within the next 24 hours to have an exam and likely antibiotics. Make sure to protect the area from Pepper licking it or scratching it as this will make it worse. Also make sure to clip the hair short and wash it with an antibacterial soap! I hope this helps!

Theres somthing on my dogs skin that started out just under neath the skin then turned into this ... what is it ?
This lump is a growth of some sort on Winnie. It could be a wart or another type of benign tumor, and there is a very slim chance it could be something malignant. It could also be a cyst. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I'd call the vet on Monday to make an appointment to have this lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed.
