My pregnant pug miscarried. What are the next steps for her care?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I urgently need to know that my pug had a misscarriage this afternoon and she started bleeding. We took her to the doctor got her checked but then by evening at home she excreted out a dead undeveloped baby. It was her 24 days of pregnancy ,and here is no vet available at night. What should we do????? Is she safe?

It appears indeed that your pug had a miscarriage. Hopefully she will give birth to the rest of the dead puppies within the next few hours. Take her back to the vet in the morning to make sure she has had all puppies and does not have an infection. She may need antibiotics depending on the condition of the dead puppies and herself, as she could become septic.
