My dog is restless at night. Is it reflux or a yeast infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 3 years and 4 months old | 45 lbs

Occasionally my dog acts restless and uncomfortable at night. I can't tell where the discomfort is coming from. There's no bloating but she does suffer reflux and has a yeasty vulva. Could either of these cause discomfort one night and then not again for days or weeks at a time?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If she is dealing with an infection, it is possible that she is fighting off the infection and then it comes back later on after resolving initially. If she has a yeast infection around her vulva, she may have a urinary tract infection from an ascending infection. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so and test her urine to see if she has a infection. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
