You can buy a cat from Craig's list for example, but I do not recommend buying a cat sight unseen. I never recommend that. You should always check out the home where it's coming from, you can assess it's condition, and seeing the cat makes sure you are getting the animal you have paid for. In addition, there are no websites where you can just buy a cat and have it shipped to you. I hope this helps.

You can do it, but it is not recommended. You may be purchasing a very sick puppy or it may not be the breed(s) listed on the paperwork. It is never recommended to buy a puppy from a pet store or online store. Adopt from your local shelter or choose a reputable breeder to avoid inadvertently supporting puppy mills.

I would check online at local pet sites online, Facebook, or check local cat rescues. Keep in mind that unless the kitten has been seen by a vet, you don't have a guarantee it is healthy. I hope you find one soon :-)

1. Cats seem to like me. I personally have four cats. 2. Cats love to eat! They also like to play and get love. 3. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they need to eat meat to survive. Different cats have different tastes. My cats love tuna, and all cats love meat and fish. I have a cat who loves to eat potato chips, especially sour cream and onion ones. She will come running if she hears a bag opening. 4. It is never ok to give cats milk. They are lactose intolerant and can't digest it. It will give them diarrhea. 5. Again, it depends on the cat. Some cats like chasing balls, while other like chasing animals on a string or feathers. 6. The Persian is #1, followed by the Maine Coon, and then the Exotic. 7. The third eyelid removes debris from the cornea, and helps to redistribute tears across the cornea. 8. It's very important to have regular health checks at your vet and vaccinate your cats. How can I figure out what kind breed my cat is without taking him all the way to a vet? It might take me awhile to find out online if I even do.
Hello. The best anyone can do is call your cat a Domestic Shorthair. Perhaps in the future, we will have the ability to distinguish breeds through DNA , like we can do with dogs now. But, the entire cat genome for every breed has not been established yet. I want to get a cat once I move but I've never had a cat before. What should I do first?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I would recommend you move in first and get used to the new place before you get the cat. This will help bring everything inside before getting the cat as cats tend to get very stressed when there is a lot of movement or noise in their in new environments. Adding a new cat to your home can be a lot of fun, but can be stressful both for you and for your current cat. Thinking of getting a kitten. Outdoors garden also available. We have a 15 month old and live in London. Are there any contraindications given that we have a baby? And what type of cat will be better?
It should be fine getting a kitten with having a toddler in the house, but you will have to work with the baby on gentle touch with the kitten. I personally would recommend getting a ragdoll. They are laid back cats, and from my own experience, very good with kids. I have a young son, and when he was learning gentle touch with animals, the ragdoll never once swiped or hissed at him. They are also very loving cats. Living in London, I would not recommend allowing the cat outside. There would be too many chances the kitten could be hit by a car, taken by another family, or attacked by another cat. It's also recommended that ragdolls be inside only cats due to their gentle nature. If you do decide to let the kitten outdoors, I would make sure to be with it outside especially when it's young so that it doesn't wander off.

Do you understand that any cat you adopt will be at risk for getting FIV no matter what. Many cats do you live in FIV mixed households and never test positive for the disease but it is always a risk. You may look for another cat who already has FIV which there are plenty who need homes. This may be the best solution. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Can sister and brother cat mate and have normal Kittens
It would not be recommended for a brother and sister to mate, since there is a higher risk of genetic problems with such close relatives mating. The kittens from such a mating may be perfectly normal, or they may suffer from birth defects - there is no way to tell until they are born.

Hi Jamie, There are a lot of people who advocate for a raw food diet, but you are right that there are a lot of risk factors. There is not a medical benefit to feeding raw food over cooked food. I think a balanced homemade (cooked) or canned food diet are the safest for cats. Making a homemade diet and keeping it balanced can be quite a bit of work, so I currently feed my cats canned.
