My Saint Bernard has a huge belly hematoma after spay. Is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Saint Bernard | Female | spayed | 10 months and 17 days old | 105 lbs

My dog developed a hematoma in her belly after being spayed ,it was size of a grapefruit if not bigger,now size of two baseball,my vet said it was normal,without seeing her,should I be concerned ,she is a 105 pound saint Bernard puppy

Thank you for submitting your question regarding the Georgia. That is a very large swelling for her to have. I recommend that she is re-evaluated by her veterinarian tomorrow. If her veterinarian still does not want to see her, you may consider seeking a second opinion. You want to ensure her incision is still holding together, that she is not running a fever and that she does not require additional medications. In the meantime, be sure to keep her from licking the area. I hope this information helps!
