My cat is drooling, weak, and had ticks. Is this an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 5 lbs

My cat, mark, has been drooling 24/7 unless sleeping for about 3 days, hes 2 and we are really scared he might not make it another day but all vets near us are busy for like 3 days, we are really worried and he looks awful. he barely gets up and he came in with about 30 ticks on him a few nights ago though shows no real symptoms of lyme disease. hes eating and using the restroom, not sure if he has been drinking. hes 2 and overall tired and not moving much. photos are of when he was healthy

The weakness and drooling is very concerning and not normal behavior for such a young cat. This may be related to tick borne diseases for weakness from anemia and I strongly recommend an emergency vet visit and blood tests as soon as possible
