Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 11 lbs
So I have 4 adult cats and I work at a shelter so I'm always bringing home bottle babies and gruel baby kittens to foster. In the past my adult cats have been so sweet and nurturing and would often clean the little ones or cuddle with them. However, this kitten season they seem to have zero interest in any kittens I foster. They arent mean to them or anything just not engaging with them like they used to. Most are orphans so it's nice when my cats will comfort them. Why did they stop??

I suspect that it has become “normal” for them to have kittens in the house now, so it is not as new and exciting as it once was. It is also possible that as your cats grow older they are just less interested in that type of behavior. I hope this answers your question, and how great of you to continue to foster these kittens! Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
